(Answers For Rural Indigenous Communities with AIDS)

CURRENT FOCUS: SWAZILAND

Join us to help change the future of Swaziland.  In Swaziland, a small landlocked country in Southern Africa, at least one inf four adults are living with HIV.  The first cases of AIDS were reported in the country in 1986.  The virus has now spread at an alarming rate and Swaziland now has the largest number of cases of HIV in the world.

AIDS has devastated the population and the spirit of the people living in the communities.  Apathy and depression are commonly found among a people who are dying.  Hope often seems worlds away when you live in a rural area without a way to afford or acquire medication.  Orphans and vulnerable children account for an estimated 15 percent of the population.  The impact of Swaziland's epidemic has been so extreme that life expectancy is just 49 years, one of the lowest in the world.  It is estimated that if something radical is not done to change the statistics, by the year 2050, there may not be a Swaziland.

We have a radical solution to save Swaziland.  The orphanages who have their kids on the flax hull lignan concentrate we are using, see their kids come back to great health.  The communities who experience the changes experience hope and a solution for the first time and we see the apathy and depression diminish.  We see people get off their death beds and get back to contributing to their communities.

Swaziland is a small nation.  There are under 1 million people in the entire country.  We are striving to find a way to get the flax lignan concentrate to the entire nation.  This is a large endeavor, but we feel it is possible.  We feel that after one year of having the flax lignans, the statistics would radically change for Swaziland and gain national attention.  All it takes is for an AIDS patient to have the lignans in their system for 6-12 weeks to see their viral loads drop and their CD-4 counts skyrocket.  We even have kids who have been on it for several years who are declared HIV- now.  The flax lignan is a powerful anti-viral agent and it comes from a waste product from the flax plant (the shell) which is discarded.  We have even found flax manufacturing plants in South Africa with piles and piles of this waste outside their plants which could easily be converted into the lignans that the country so very much needs.

We have a detailed plan that we are working towards to try to make this happen.  Billions of dollars are pumped into education and prevention, which is good...but we feel that we could set the country of Swaziland free and alert the world that something radical is happening in the HIV world with a few million dollars.  If you'd like to know more about this effort, and would like to be a part of it, send us an email at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. UPDATE ON SENZO

Thank you for your donations to help Senzo, a South African boy (pictured front, right) who fell onto railroad tracks and was almost electrocuted to death. He had severe burns and has had a long and trying recovery but he is back with his friends and caregivers. Your donations helped the orphanage that cares for him to pay some of the medical bills. We are thankful for his caring staff who would not leave him to die because of the high cost of his medical care. His bills were very high and if you'd like to give more to continue to help this orphanage pay off his medical bill debt, you can designate your giving to "SENZO" when you give online under our "How to Help" tab.
